WEST BEND - A man from West Bend has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after his girlfriend's daughter died of a severe infection.

"Haley Kluwe died May 1, 2012, of a massive streptococcus infection throughout her body after several days of neglect," according to Bruce Vielmetti with the Journal Sentinel.

Justin Streicher pleaded no contest to the crime, and was found guilty. Kluwe's mother, Leann Lesznski was also sentenced to 15 years after agreeing to a plea deal.

"Even after discovering her body, Leszynski and Streicher did not call 911 or seek emergency medical help, according to the criminal complaint," said Vielmetti. "Instead, they called Streicher's mother and asked her to remove two other children — the deceased toddler had a twin sister and there was an older sister — from the apartment in the 2000 block of Barton Ave."

Leszynski later told her doctor Haley had died, and police were called. Both Streicher and Leszynski will face 10 years extended probation after their 15 year sentences are complete.
