GRAFTON - People in Grafton are planning the royal treatment for Donald Driver today.
The Packers' legend is visiting John Long Middle School. The school won the visit after collecting more than 70,000 items for Goodwill.
Donald will see his welcome long before he gets to the school. People can gather along Highway 60 to see his appearance.
"We have parents that are staked along his route, the high school is along the route and another grade school. Our students are going to come out and welcome him and just cheer him on as he's driving," said Elisabeth Shcalk.
Shcalk is a first year teacher at John Long. Her principal gave her a flyer about a contest to collect items for Goodwill. She got students and then the whole community involved and the school won the contest.
Now she's involving the whole community in the visit as well. "It's Donald Driver. Could you imagine if you were in a city and you didn't know he was here. That's why we wanted to get the word out to the community," Shcalk said.
Donald is expected to arrive between 8:30 and 9 in the morning.
It's a treat, for sure. But it's also been an education for the students. "I think our students really have learned a lot about what goodwill does and how they can give back to the community, how they can be involved as community members," said Greg Kabara, John Long Middle School's Principal.
