Milwaukee Co. correctional officer arrested for possession of marijuana
MILWAUKEE - Just before 8 p.m. Monday, Milwaukee police made a traffic stop on S. 13th and noticed someone in the vehicle throw a "baggy" out the window.
"They noted a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle when they approached," said Fran McLaughlin with the Milwaukee Sheriff. "The officer retrieved the baggy and found that it contained two corner-cut baggies of marijuana, weighing 1.1 grams."
The passenger of the car, later identified as Leon Martin, 23 of Milwaukee, said it was his.
Martin is a correctional officer at the Milwaukee County Jail. Because he is still in his six-month probationary period, he may face termination.
Martin was given a citation for Possession of Marijuana.
