Pewaukee RiverRun Race has a chilly start
PEWAUKEE, Wis. - Not quite the weather you'd expect for May, but 150 people weren't discouraged. They brought their canoes and kayaks to the annual Pewaukee RiverRun race anyway on Saturday.
In addition, hundreds of others cheered them on, as the river racers took off on an eight-mile journey that started at the Hammel Machine Products on E. Wisconsin Avenue in Pewaukee and ended up in Frame Park on the Fox River in Waukesha.
The annual race began in 1973. Proceeds benefit Pewaukee.
