Milwaukee-area group raises money to help victims of human trafficking
MILWAUKEE - A new group dedicated to fighting human trafficking in Milwaukee is holding its kick off event this weekend.
Exploit No More is a new organization made up of churches and other groups that have come together to fight human trafficking in the Milwaukee area.
Its initial event is this Sunday afternoon at the Harley Davidson Museum.
Pastor Jason Butler is the group's president.
He hopes a lot of people will come out and get involved in their work.
"To provide long-term residential aftercare for girls who have been exploited, trafficked, raped, in any way shape or form held against their will for sexual (reasons)," said Butler.
Butler says it's hard to put a number on how big of a issue human trafficking is in Milwaukee, but he says law enforcement all agree it's a major problem.
