WAUKESHA - The Waukesha Sheriff said the shooting of a knife-wielding man was justified.
The report came back On Thursday from the April 21 shooting of Gibson Martin, clearing the officers involved.
Waukesha Police Officers were called to a home on Spring Crest Circle back in April. The homeowners said the man was threatening suicide, and refused mental health assistance.
The couple who lived at the home told police Martin was armed with knives. When he came out of the home, he charged at officers, and they shot him. He was taken to the hospital but expected to survive.
The review of the shooting found the officers were justified in using deadly force. The report states it was, “the only reasonable option available to the officers.”
