PORT WASHINGTON - Trista Ziehr, the owner of the Family Tree Learning Center in Cedarburg, didn't say much in court on Wednesday. She stood in front of an Ozaukee County Judge today on charges she failed to report abuse at the daycare that happened right under her nose.
Cedarburg police say a 12-year-old boy at the daycare sexually assaulted at least two boys, and both victims are just 4-years-old.
The day care was closed after police were made aware of the situation. Ziehr didn’t have any comment after court.
Jaymie Lacey doesn't understand why the 12-year-old was allowed to be at the daycare at all.
"She knew that this kid had a problem and she allowed him to be alone with children at the daycare," Lacey said.
Now, all of the parents and children who went to the daycare are being interviewed, just to make sure there are no other potential victims out there.
Right now, the 12-year-old boy is only charged with assaulting one victim, but Cedarburg Police confirms there are at least two right now. The accused boy will be in court for the first time later this week.
