MILWAUKEE - It's been more than a year since Jeffrey Garnier had been brutally beaten to death.
Now, one of his suspected killers heads to court.
The trial begins for Danny Thompson, charged with felony murder of mentally slow man from West Allis.
Police say Thompson, 48, along with a 17-year-old boy, beat Garnier along Lincoln Avenue in West Allis, then left him for dead.
Another man allegedly stole his wallet.
Garnier never had a chance to defend himself.
His family called him a sweet, harmless, mentally slow man who didn't deserve to die this way.
Thompson's trial was to begin at 8:30 a.m. Monday with jury selection.
