Denim Day in Milwaukee raises awareness of sexual abuse
WAUWATOSA - There's a good reason to wear jeans to work today.
Denim Day in Wisconsin raises awareness of sexual abuse.
Wauwatosa East High School has already put up a denim display on Wednesday.
They have hanged 1,000 pairs of jeans along 76th Street to honor survivors of sex abuse.
It started after a woman was raped by her driving instructor, but the case was dismissed because the victim's jeans were so tight that she had to help him take them off.
Today's Denim Day honors her and other people who have suffered from sexual abuse.
