WHEATLAND - People who live near highway 50 in Kenosha County say they're relieved after the Fox River has finally started to drop.
Several days of rain had forced the river to overflow it's banks.
Homeowners were still dealing with the after effects of the flooding Saturday.
It also forced officials to close a section of highway 50 because water covered the road.
Several drivers were spotted ignoring the signs. TODAY'S TMJ4 captured video of drivers pulling down the barricades to avoid having to take an alternative route.
It's a sight neighbor Harry Tobias witnessed all day after the road closed signs and the barricades went up. He said, "Two kids, I saw them down there, I guess they moved this one before they went down there."
The Sheriff's Department was seen handing out tickets to several drivers who drove through the closed road.
Officials said the highway would reopen after water no longer covers the roadway.
