Milwaukee runners not discouraged by Boston bombings

By Michele Fiore. CREATED Apr 20, 2013

MILWAUKEE - Runners in Milwaukee are showing their pride and support for the Boston bombing victims. Today's TMJ4's Nick Montes reports the tragedy isn't going to stop them from doing what they love.

Joseph Sosa is an avid runner and he says this all hit so close to home because he does participate in marathons. Even though Sosa and Sarah Willing are running for childhood cancer research, the bombings during the Boston Marathon are on their minds.

Sara Willing says in a way, it makes her a bit nervous about big events.  A

bout 400 runners from Wisconsin ran in the Boston Marathon, 200 here locally.

There are countless stories from runners about when the bombs went off.

Carianne Yerkes is with the Milwaukee police department's endurance club which held a run/walk this weekend.

She says what happened in Boston is making runners stronger.
