MILWAUKEE - There's no doubt Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn is keeping a close eye on what's going on in Boston. Flynn was the Secretary of Public Safety in Massachusetts 10 years ago.
For three years, Flynn was at the center of making sure the Boston Marathon was a safe event.
“Extraordinary planning goes into it,” Flynn said. “Having been a part of that plan I can tell you that route security is as great as any marathon in the world.”
Flynn explains they do extensive searches for bombs, but that it's hard to keep the 26 miles in a bubble.
Law enforcement officials have asked for all cell phone video and pictures of the marathon to help them piece together who is responsible for this horrific act.
