MEQUON - Rain in the forecast has some flood victims bracing for more high water.
Residents who live along Shoreland Drive in Mequon are finally getting a brake. Water from the Milwaukee river invaded homes and yards after several days of rain last week.
Jerry Schelach still has a couple feet of water in the crawl space under his home.
The Mequon man said he was watching the forecast hoping there wasn't more rain on the way.
He said, "I'm watching very closely because while we've got some relief, the river is down as you can see." He added, "it affords us a little cushion if we have the same rainfall."
Across the river in Thiensville, people said the high water brought back memories of flooding in 2008. As of Sunday, water from the Milwaukee river had dropped from it's Friday levels.
Schelach said he's hoping to make it through the week as he keeps an eye to the sky. He said, "a lot of praying is going on right now."
