Town of Brookfield officer dies in the line of duty

BROOKFIELD- The Town of Brookfield Police Department is mourning the loss of one of their own this morning. 32-year-old Officer Donald Bishop died of an apparent heart attack while on duty.   He was responding to a burglary.

Officer Bishop was hired in August of 2011. He also worked as a part-time officer with the Village of Eagle Police Department. Officer Bishop also worked for more than 10 years as a Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician with the Village of North Prairie Fire Department.

He graduated from from Waukesha Technical College, where he had received his training in Law Enforcement, Firefighting, and as an Emergency Medical Technician.

In a press release, the Town of Brookfield Police Department says, "Officer Bishop was a very dedicated police officer and public safety professional serving the citizens of the Town of Brookfield and the residents of Waukesha County for more than 10 years."
