WEST BEND - Wisconsin State Senator Glenn Grothmann wants tax breaks for parents who send their kids to private school. Critics argue it's just more tax cuts for the rich, but Sen. Grothman doesn't agree.
"This is tiny. A lot of these public schools are spending 12, 13, $14,000 in taxpayer money a year,” he said. “The idea that we'd help a parent who sends their kids to private schools $1500 or $2500 dollars is almost nothing. After all, right now we fully fund public schools for a parent who's worth a million dollars."
The tax credit would go to any parent who sends a child to private school.
