Therapist offers tips on overcoming rainy day blues
MILWAUKEE - Our rainy, gloomy weather has turned many people into stressed out or crabby people.
Licensed therapist Kate Ferguson says the weather really can effect your emotions.
"You felt a little melancholy like this morning, when it's windy and rainy, and you feel like you can't catch a break," said Ferguson to Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Jodi Becker.
But, she says to keep the complaining in check.
Her suggestion: Acknowledge to the people you see that it is miserable out, but don't focus solely on the weather or you will become miserable too.
"You may find instant gratification from saying 'The weather's really crappy today,' but truly, it's not going to help anything."
She says you also have to cut other crabby people some slack on days like this.
