Woman arrested for 4th OWI has a child in the car with her
RACINE - Wednesday night, a 49-year-old woman was arrested for her fourth OWI, and had a child in the car at the time.
According to the criminal complaint, Loretta Lacy was pulled over just before 9:30 p.m. March 27, and officers found that she had an outstanding warrant for an OWI. Lacy had four passengers in the car at the time, including one that is under the age of 16.
The arresting officer said he smelled alcohol on Lacy's breath so they transported her to the hospital where sobriety tests were taken. The officer said she also failed numerous field sobriety tests.
The officers found that Lacy had an Alabama driver's license, a Wisconsin ID card and South Dakota plates. While they found three previous OWI convictions in Wisconsin, they could not find any drunk driving arrests in other states.
As an officer was arresting Lacy, she allegedly resisted arrest, resulting in an additional charge.
