OCONOMOWOC - It's the downside of an improving economy. Businesses like Oconomowoc's Grill Junkies say they're having a hard time finding qualified chefs.
Choo, who only goes by his first name, owns Grill Junkies.
"As the economy is improving resturants are getting busier, were all competing for a small pool of qualified labor," he said.
Choo said the lack of qualified prospective workers has forced him to change his menu. Gone will be the complicated Asian dishes. He'll now focus on specialty burgers with a self serve condiment bar.
An annual survey by Milwaukee based Manpower Group shows about half of all companies they surveyed are experiencing similar issues.
Skilled Trades, Engineers and IT Workers are the most in demand by companies.
