BROOKFIELD - The search is on for a missing handgun after a woman from Waukesha County says it was taken out of her vehicle at a car wash.
Annie Green claims an employee at a car wash stole the handgun.
The last time Annie Green saw her gun was in her car before taking it to the car wash.
She claims she put her handgun in her car's console before going through the car wash.
Then, she claims, the employee from Full Service Car Wash in Brookfield stole it.
"It was the one that brought it off the rock, the one that wipes the windows down and the dashboard," said Green.
Green has a concealed carry permit.
She noticed her handgun was missing after leaving the car wash.
The manager at the car wash told TODAY'S TMJ4's Nick Montes that he did not want to go on camera, but he said they searched surveillance video, checked employees, checked employees' cars and lockers, and no gun was found.
The manager also said police checked around their building and nearby bushes, but nothing has turned up.
That has Green concerned, since her gun is gone.
"Somebody may use it for bad purposes," said Green, who says she's not sure if she'll get another gun.
She tells us that she won't be going back to that car wash.
Police say the missing gun is listed in their system.
