MILWAUKEE - Wednesday’s high temperature in Milwaukee was 44 degrees, and was the warmest so far during this chilly month.

Last year the warmest temperature for Milwaukee in March was 44 degrees, 40 degrees warmer than this year. We will see high temperatures jump a bit through the weekend with maximum temperatures in the middle to upper-forties through Easter Sunday.

There is a chance for rain in Milwaukee late Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday, and right now it looks like much colder weather for Opening Day Monday.

The average monthly temperature for March of 2012 was so warm that if it was transferred to April data, March of 2012 would have been in the top 15 warmest Aprils on record for Milwaukee.

March is currently running in the top 15 coldest on record, although there have been no record cold temperatures. During the hot March of last year record high temperatures were broken on six different occasions.

This March is so cold that we have seen snow on the ground for almost the entire month, and the warmest temperature for this month is colder than the warmest for all three winter months.

The warmest for December was a balmy 65 degrees, while January had a monthly warmest at 60 degrees. The warmest temperature for the month of February was 48 degrees.
