2 of 9 suspended Milwaukee Firefighters fired
MILWAUKEE -- Two Milwaukee Firefighters who were among the nine suspended on allegations of vandalism were fired.
Assistant Fire Chief Gerard Washington told the Journal Sentinel that the decision to realse the two probationary firefighters was not related to the ongoing investigation. The firefighters were fired on Monday and Tuesday - a day before hearings were set to begin on the vadalism
Nine firefighters were suspended on September 30th after Engine House 32, in the 1500 block of N. 30th street was found vandalized. It was the last shift before the firefighters were expected to be transferred to other firehouses in the city.
The Fire Department does not have a timeline for when the investigation will be over.
