ONEIDA COUNTY - A snowmobiler died Saturday night, bringing the number of fatalities this season to 19.
According to Joanne Haas with the Bureau of Law Enforcement, they believe possible operator inexperience may have been a contributing factor in the death, which happened in Oneida County.
"A second single snowmobile incident in Marinette County, also on Saturday night, resulted in injuries," Haas said. "Officials say speed may have been a contributing factor in this incident."
Authorities are urging all snowmobilers to remember safety should be their top priority.
"Ride sober, keep your speeds down and stay on designated trails and routes," said Haas.
