MILWAUKEE - Feeling like a blizzard treat? A local Dairy Queen is keeping things spotless in the kitchen.
Meanwhile, on the south side, a small Mexican place gets the "all clean" from its local health department.
Those are this week's Clean Dining Blue Ribbon Award winners.
La Fondita, Milwaukee
They are always busy cleaning at La Fondita on South 25th Street and West Greenfield Avenue.
The family-owned Mexican spot works hard on having perfect inspections.
"We keep the temperature at the perfect level, and then we try to clean every time we're doing something clean right away," said Dulce Castro, translating for her mother Patricia.
Patricia does all the cooking and Dulce helps out when she's not in school.
For keeping things clean and for their perfect health inspection, La Fondita gets our first Blue Ribbon Award.
"Thank you. We feel so proud to have this award," Dulce told us, and Patricia said, "thank you, thank you very much."
Dairy Queen, Milwaukee
From Mexican fare to a place known for its tasty treats: Dairy Queen on Hampton near Santa Monica.
They serve up blizzards, shakes and things that come on a bun and also some clean dining!
"We go through daily routines," manager Raqhel Drummer pointed out.
She is on employees to keep things clean.
When Drummer saw that perfect health inspection? "Oh, I love it. I love it. It's the best."
