GREEN BAY - Former Green Bay Packers Charles Woodson is reportedly set to visit the San Francisco 49ers next week.
"The Packers didn't want him back. In fact, they weren't even open to talking about a restructured contract with Charles Woodson," said Tyler Dunne with the Journal Sentinel. "But one day into free agency, there apparently is a market for the potential future Hall of Famer."
Woodson's agent, Carl Poston, confirmed to Dunne that Woodson would indeed be visiting the team. Poston also said six other teams have showed interest.
Poston also said that if it were up to them, Woodson would have stayed in Green Bay.
"I really thought we were going to talk about restructuring the deal," Poston told Dunne. "That never happened."
Poston said, for fans hoping for a Green Bay return, anything is possible, but he "doesn't see it happening."
