MILWAUKEE - A man has been taken to a hospital after a crash involving his vehicle and a U.S. Postal Service semi truck.
The crash happened at about 3:00 a.m. Wednesday on West Bluemound Road near Calhoun Road in Brookfield. Crews had to close eastbound lanes until 7:00 a.m., when they were re-opened.
TODAY'S TMJ4's Nick Montes reports both vehicles were heading eastbound on Bluemound, but the smaller vehicle lost control and was pinned under the semi.
The driver, who is in his 30's, had to be extricated.
Once crews removed him from the car, he was determined to be alert and conscious.
Rescue crews took him to a hospital. There was no initial word on the severity of his injuries.
The Postal Service vehicle driver was reportedly OK after the crash.
Police and postal service investigators were looking into the cause of the crash.
The Wisconsin State Patrol advises drivers to go north on Calhoun, east on Wisconsin Avenue, then south on Main Street to return to Bluemound Road.
