MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee County Sheriff's office arrested two people between Monday night and Tuesday morning for separate occasions of driving under the influence.

The office received a 911 call around 3:00 a.m. Tuesday reporting a possible drunken driver that was "swerving in and out of traffic" on northbound Hwy 45 near Burleigh. The deputy pulled the car over on the W. Appleton off-ramp and found Kelly Tew, 44 of Kenosha.

Tew said he was coming from the Potawatomi Bingo Casino. When asked if he had been drinking, he reportedly said, “I had a little too much.”

He registered a .18 blood alcohol level.

"His prior convictions were in July 1996 in Virginia, May 1998 in Maryland, and September 2006 in Alaska," said the sheriff's office. "If convicted of this fourth offense, he faces up to one year in jail."

Monday night around 9:00 p.m., the office was also called to the report of a hit-and-run on I-94 eastbound near 121s street. A witness followed the fleeing car, and deputies eventually arrested the driver. Jessie Putnam, 29 of Waukesha, blew a .16 blood alcohol level, and was arrested for her third DUI.

Putnam faces up to six years in prison if convicted of the DUI-3rd Causing Injury. According to the sheriff, Putnam's prior DUI arrests occurred in June 2006 and January 2008.
