MILWAUKEE - The City of Milwaukee is doubling up on the number of plows and salt trucks to make sure you can get to work today, but that means no garbage collection today.
"Following pickup on Thursday, we put our plow blades on 107 garbage and recycling trucks. They went out and started plowing the side streets around the city," Department of Public Works Spokeswoman Sandy Rusch Walton told Newsradio 620 WTMJ.
"They've been plowing all night, and they'll continue plowing throughout the day on Friday."
That's why those can't pick up your garbage and recyclables.
"We'll pick up where we left off on Monday. That's how we'll catch up with that."
Milwaukee's salt trucks and plows are focusing on main roads this morning to help get people to work.
Then, they will get to the side streets.
