WEST ALLIS - A teenage shoplifting suspect has died after other customers restrained him in a store before police arrived.
The Milwaukee County District Attorney is reviewing the case and determining if those three men could face charges.
Corey Stingley, 16, died after the scuffle with three customers at V.J.'s Food Mart near the corner of South 92nd Street and West Schlinger Avenue.
The men restrained Stingley, a student at Nathan Hale High School, because he allegedly was shoplifting alcoholic beverages.
A camera inside the store caught video of the three men initially confronting Stingley.
However, the confrontation continued outside, and the camera did not capture that video.
The men say Stingley resisted against them.
Police and paramedics were called, and Stingley was taken to Froedtert Hospital.
He died there last Saturday.
West Allis Police were still sorting out details on what happened in the incident.
They say that it appeared that Stingley returned the items to the clerk.
