Keywords to Packers wildcard victory

GREEN BAY - The Packers and Vikings will meet for the third time in 34 days Saturday. Coming off a 37-34 defeat in Minnesota to set up the match-up, quarterback Aaron Rodgers saw some things he liked from the loss.

"We put up a good amount of points and moved the ball real well," Rodgers said this week after throwing for 365 yards and 4 touchdowns in week 17.

"Especially our last 7 drives. We have to do a better job starting the game but I think we can move the ball on them and just have to take care of the football."

Getting off to a fast start has been a keyword in the Packers locker room this week.

"We're fired up and we're anxious to get out there and put a good product on the field," said fullback John Kuhn.

"We've been good at the right time, I think that's what we need to do," echoed guard Josh Sitton. "If our defense plays like they've played all year and we can do what we've been doing, we can be successful."

Another keyword has been confidence. Which the Packers also exude.

"What [Minnesota] got? A running back and a crowd last week," said tight end Jermichael Finley.

"The crowd is hectic when you go to the [Metro]dome. Now, they come into Lambeau and the Lambeau advantage is in effect, I guess."

"The time is now, a lot of guys in this locker room have that taste in their mouths walking off the field from that Giants loss last year," said wide receiver James Jones. "Hopefully we think about that when we take the field."

Since the NFL adopted the 12 team playoff format in 1990, home teams are 58-30 in the Wildcard round.

In the last eight years, however, home teams are 17-15.
