GREEN BAY - Even after the Packers' 37-34 defeat at Minnesota, Packers Coach Mike McCarthy believes his glass is half-full as the team prepares Monday for a playoff rematch with the Vikings.

"There's nothing but positives right now.  This is playoff football," said McCarthy during a Monday morning news conference at Lambeau Field.

The Packers' chance for redemption comes Saturday night at Lambeau Field in an NFC wildcard game.

"The door is open for the playoffs to begin.  We're one of six teams (in the NFC) that have the opportunity to fight to go to New Orleans."

He said that unlike the team's loss to Minnesota at Mall of America Field on Sunday, "this is a different deal."

It obviously is due to the single-elimination nature of the playoffs.

Yet, McCarthy says the Packers need to go back to basics to succeed.

"Playoff football is about fundamentals," explained McCarthy.

"You look at the games where we were successful and the ones where we weren't successful, the things we're talking about are taking care of the football, taking the football away, breaking tackles, tackling, get off blocks, maintaining blocks, that's what this game is going to come down to."

McCarthy also explained that the team hopes to have wide receiver/kick returner Randall Cobb, safety Charles Woodson and running back James Starks healthy for the rematch.
