GREEN BAY - The stakes couldn't be higher for the Vikings. Win and they're into the postseason. Lose and go home.
A Packers loss could mean the Vikings will turn around and come to Lambeau Field for a first round playoff game.
The Packers refuse to focus on such a scenario leading into week 17.
"Our main goal right now is to get home field," said wide receiver James Jones. "Focus on this weekend and whatever happens after that happens. We're focused on getting that 2 seed right now."
"The way the seasons been set up, every game the last month has been big, so it's no different right now," added cornerback Tramon Williams.
For Green Bay, the objective is equally as clear. A win, and they get an additional week off to get healthy.
"There's a lot of motivating factors going into this game," said fullback John Kuhn. "Number one, we want that first bye. We want as much home field advantage as we can get in the playoffs. Aside from that, it's a chance to sweep the division again."
The prospects of facing Adrian Peterson once more is also something the defense wants to avoid.
"Man, seeing 'AP' three times in a year that'd be unbelievable, just speaking on how great a player he is, but we just have to go out there and take care of business," said defensive end Jerel Worthy. "We have a lot on the line for us.
Peterson rushed for 210 yards against the Packers in their last meeting. Middle linebacker Brad Jones is confident the Packers defensive unit will win the day this time around.
"I like where we are as a defense especially and as a team," he said. "I like the atmosphere in the locker room and the atmosphere on the field. I like how we're playing."
