TOWN OF ERIN - Two brothers who are teenagers were injured in a rollover crash in the Town of Erin early Wednesday morning.
The Washington County Sheriff's Department says the 15 and 16-year-old boys were heading to Hartford Union High School when the crash happened at about 7:00 a.m. at the corner of Highway K and Donegal Road in the Town of Erin.
Authorities said that, according to a preliminary investigation, the driver was going north on highway K, drove partially off the shoulder, re-entered traffic, crossed into the southbound lane, and went into the west ditch when the car overturned.
The driver said he looked down inside the car and took his eyes off the road, and that led to the car going onto the shoulder.
Deputies said the car was partially crushed, and the boy in the passenger's seat was rescued after being trapped inside the car.
Flight for Life took him to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. He should survive his injuries.
Rescue crews took the other driver to Community Memorial Hospital with what sheriff's officials described as "relatively minor injuries."
TODAY'S TMJ4's Nick Montes reports that the roof of the car was torn off.
