MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Police say they're searching for the driver of a van who struck an officer's bicycle and barely missed the officer.
According to police, three bike patrol officers went up to a vehicle parked in a lot near North 49th Street and West Capitol Drive at about 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Two officers went toward the vehicle from the back, while one came upon it from the front.
As a passenger went into the van, the driver moved the van right in front of the officer in the front.
The officer was able to get off his bike and avoid the vehicle, but the van struck the bike before leaving the parking lot.
Police describe the driver as a black man, about 18 to 20 years old. He was wearing a white t-shirt with a cell phone on his lanyard.
Authorities describe the passenger as a black man with dark complexion, about 18 to 20 years old, about 6' tall with slim build and short hair, wearing a baggy white t-shirt and blue denim pants, white shoes and a cell phone on his lanyard.
The video, shot by Milwaukee Police, has a picture of a man police believe to be the passenger, and they want to speak with him.
Authorities ask you to call them at 414-935-7360 if you have any information.
