MILWAUKEE- The man arrested and struck by a Milwaukee police officer, caught on video, could be charged with drunk driving later this week.
The officer said the man was resisting arrest and the officer hit the man in the head twice. But the man told TODAY'S TMJ4 he was not resisting; now he has a lawyer.
The Milwaukee County district attorney's office is still waiting to review the case of Jefferey Strasser on charges of OWI. The video of the arrest was caught on tape at N. Water St. and E. Juneau Ave. last Thursday night.
They were specific techniques used by Milwaukee police to get Strasser to comply with their demands. Brian Dorow, who heads up the criminal justice program at Waukesha County Technical College says he won't comment on this particular case. "Your talking about a split second decision that has to be made," said Dorow.
Dorow says officers face possible danger with every stop. "You never know who your going to encounter until you make physical contact with them."
Strasser's attorney is not commenting on the case until charges have been filed, according to TODAY'S TMJ4.
