STURGEON BAY- The pilot who helped guide an 80-year-old woman to a safe landing in Sturgeon Bay says he had faith she would be able to follow his directions.

Retired Midwest Airlines pilot Robert Vuksanovic says he raced to the airport after receiving a call there was an emergency in the air.

John Collins died following a heart attack at the controls of his twin engine plane.  John's wife, Helen has little knowledge of flying.

Vuksanovic gave Helen step-by-step instructions that guided her to safety.  He told TODAY'S TMJ4 when he arrived to the airport, he realized he had left the keys for his plane at home.

John and Helen Collins kept a second plane at the airport which Robert Vuksanovic used to help Helen land.

Funeral services for John Collins are expected to take place next week.
