Freeze watch before seasonal, sunny day for Brewers opener
MILWAUKEE - Southeastern Wisconsin has been placed under a freeze watch for the overnight hours before seasonal and sunny weather is expected for the Milwaukee Brewers' opening game.
The National Weather Service issued it to be in effect from 2:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. Friday morning for Milwaukee, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Kenosha, Jefferson, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, Waukesha, Walworth and Washington Counties.
Temperatures could drop low enough to bring about what the NWS calls a "hard freeze," with possible lows in the upper 20's to lower 30's.
"If you have sensitive plants, or are sensitive to the cold, cover both up," said Storm Team 4Caster Michael Fish.
The freeze watch comes just before the Milwaukee Brewers' home opener, a day where thousands will want to tailgate.
Michael says there shouldn't be much worry about rain watering down people's grills.
"Beautiful, with mostly sunny sky and less wind than we'll see today."
