Skittles and hoodies for Trayvon supporters in Milwaukee

CREATED Mar. 31, 2012

MILWAUKEE - Dozens of Trayvon Martin supporters in Milwaukee handed out skittles and wore hoodies to a rally Saturday afternoon.

It was one of two demonstrations in Milwaukee Saturday, on behalf of the 17 year old who was fatally shot in Florida by a neighborhood watch volunteer.

Quishana Pollard with "Praise Lord Productions Street Squad" says the 17 year old was shot after he'd purchased ice tea and skittles and that is why they wore hoodies and handed out skittles.

Pollard was among some 50 people who showed up near Atkinson and 25th Saturday to influence others.

While many rallied outside a police station in Florida Saturday, calling for the arrest of the neighborhood watch volunteer, George Zimmerman, Pollard said they don't want to pass judgment, but she say if there was foul play, that man, needs to be investigated.

A second Trayvon rally took place Saturday afternoon in Milwaukee on the grounds of the Lion of Judah Church at 4030 North 34th Street.
