MILWAUKEE- Milwaukee police are searching for a man who they say left a loaded gun near children leading to an accidential shooting.

According to detectives, the convicted felon brought the gun into the house near 8th Street and Burleigh Thursday night.

A 4-year-old accidentally pulled the trigger shooting an 8-year-old step brother.

Police say the man, who was the mother's boyfriend, grabbed the weapon and took off afterwards.

The shooting victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

A neighbor tells TODAY'S TMJ4 the bullet missed him and shattered his window.  Police are not naming the man they are looking for at this time.
