Mother optimistic about finding missing Milwaukee son

MILWAUKEE- The mother of 28-year-old Tommy Hecht is working nonstop to find her son who hasn't been seen since last Saturday night at Rosie's On Water around 10 p.m.

"I am being very optimistic and I'm being very hopeful," said Shelly Hecht to TODAY'S TMJ4.

Shelly Hecht is doing what she can to pull herself together, relying on friends and strangers to help with search efforts around Milwaukee on Wednesday.  This mom won't rest until her son is found.

"We're trying to find my son, Tommy. We love him so much and we've got to find him and bring him home," said Shelly Hecht.

With her husband, Bob, by her side, Shelly Hecht refused to take this fight sitting down.  Posting flyers with family members, the woman hopes someone will see her son's face and solve this mystery.

Rescue crews continued their search for 28-year-old Tommy Hecht, while volunteers comb the city, strategically searching for any signs of the young man.

Allie Gould, Tommy's girlfriend, is amazed by the support.  "We just ask people to keep spreading the word.  We're still looking.  He's still missing.  We're not going to give up until we find him," said Allie Gould.

Hecht vanished after a pub crawl downtown.  Volunteers are hoping to spot him in the third or fifth wards.  Dad Bob Hecht says he'll try any strategy if it brings his boy back.

"It's something I wouldn't want anyone to experience," said Bob Hecht.

With no plans of stopping, the young man's family continues on -- hoping Tommy himself will hear this message and come home.

"Tommy, I love you so much.  So many people love you.  We are going to find you," said Shelly Hecht.

Family members are asking anyone who may have seen the man to call police at (414) 935-7401

According to police, he was last seen wearing a green t-shirt with a St. Patrick's Day inscription on the front and green beads around his neck.
