Bomb threat at Cedarburg H.S. being investigated
CEDARBURG- Cedarburg police are investigating a bomb threat written on a bathroom stall at Cedarburg High School after school ended on Tuesday, January 31, according to a letter to parents from Cedarburg High School.
The threat claims there would be a bomb "at our school" on Thursday, February 2.
The letter states that the bathroom was immediately locked down and the building had been searched and found to be safe before school Wednesday.
The school's administration stresses that anyone found responsible for that threat will face expulsion and prosecution.
Authorities are asking anyone with information relative to the threat should talk to the school's administration.
The letter also says there will also be two police officers at Cedarburg High School Thursday morning.
Both the Cedarburg Police Department and the school administration say they are confident that the school will be safe Thursday.
But in an attempt to be sensitive to parents' concerns for the well-being of their children, if parents choose to keep their student(s) home Thursday, the absence will not negatively affect that student's attendance status.
For this to occur, parents/guardians must call the school attendance line at 376-6206 should they choose to have their child excused from school on Thursday, February 2, 2012.
