PORT WASHINGTON- A beating at a Port Washington middle school, and it was caught on tape, and then posted on-line for everyone to see.
TODAY'S TMJ4's Rob Koebel reports it didn't take long for the schools principal to see that video online Wednesday night and once he saw it, he put a plan in action immediately.
The fight breaks out in the boys locker room at Thomas Jefferson Middle School. The kids cheer on as another student records the fight on his cell phone.
Principal Arlan Galarowicz says the video is disturbing to watch, "We take it very seriously," said Galarowicz. "We knew that from the get go we had to take a strong action to indicate this would not be tolerated".
The kids posted the video on Facebook. A parent noticed and called the school immediately. The principal says one student challenged another student to beat up another classmate all for a dollar. While others stood by and watched.
"For what ever reason they cheered instead of stopping it," said Principal Arlan Galarowicz.
The schools principal says this was a isolated incident. Meanwhile the Port Washington police are also investigating. Nobody was seriously hurt in the attack.
The principal says two students have been suspended for the attack.
