Jefferson County SWAT Team arrests suicidal man after 5-hour standoff

FORT ATKINSON- Fort Atkinson police have told Newsradio 620 WTMJ that after a 5-hour standoff with authorities, a suicidal man, Donald Lewis has been arrested by Jefferson County SWAT Team.
Jefferson County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team had mobilized to assist the Fort Atkinson Police Department in an unknown situation, reportedly on Fort Atkinson's south side.
Ft. Atkinson Schools Superintendent Dr. James Fitzpatrick told Newsradio 620 WTMJ, "We were notified of a disturbance by the police in the neighborhood of two of our elementary schools."
Fitzpatrick went on to say that they held the students inside the school for a while until police gave them clearance to allow parents to pick up their kids from school as well as buses dispatched.
Superintendent Fitzpatrick added that, "We had a normal day of school...there wasn't any disturbance in the school."
He then informed Newsradio 620 WTMJ he was told the incident happened in a neighborhood home about a block away from two of the Ft. Atkinson elementary schools.
TODAY'S TMJ4 reports the SWAT Team apparently was called sometime after noon on Monday.
