Three teens dead from car crash in Eau Claire County

TOWN OF WASHINGTON- The Eau Claire County Sheriff's Office reports that three teenagers are dead from a one-vehicle crash in the 6500 block of Walnut Road in the town of Washington from Tuesday evening.
Investigators say that 14-year-old Austin E. Gable of Strum, WI, 13-year-old McKenna Johnson of Eleva, WI and 15-year-old Marco O. Perez of Strum, WI died as a result of injuries they received from the crash.
Two other people, 16-year-old Felicia L. Bertrang of Strum, WI and 13-year-old Ulises Ponce of Strum, WI were taken to the hospital for injuries from the crash. Their current health status isn't known at this time.
Eau Claire County Sheriff Ron Cramer told Newsradio 620 WTMJ, that the teenagers were from the Eleva-Strum School District in Trempealeau County.
According to Sheriff Cramer, "Absolutely speed was a contributing factor." Sheriff Cramer went on to say that the 14-year-old male was believed to be driving the car at the time of the crash.
Authorities believe that the car was going over 80 MPH based on the damage to the vehicle from the crash.
Sheriff Cramer said they are investigating into Facebook comments that one of the people involved said they had smoked marijuana prior to the crash.
The crash is under investigation by Eau Claire County Sheriff's Office. Further details of the crash will be released once the investigation is concluded.
