Powerful winds cause damage in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE- The powerful wind gusts Monday morning also caused damage inland as a number of trees were knocked down.
Some of those winds knocked down an old tree onto a house earlier this morning.
One of the neighbors tell TODAY'S TMJ4 the sound was unbelievable, saying the ground shook
Another neighbor said, "the winds were really bad; the rain was coming down."
Mother nature provided quite the wake up call.
Jerry Taube wasn't the only one to see damage, a few miles away in Bayside.
"it took out part of the gutter and certainly the rail," said Taube.
We Energies crews tried to get the lights back on after a tree took out a power line, which took out power to 35 other homes and Bayside Middle School.
Marshall Moskol's 12-year-old daughter along with her classmates were sent home around ten Monday morning after the power wasn't restored. Computers, lunch preparation, almost everything was affected.
On the south side, the unexpected sounds of chainsaws echoed through the neighborhood with everyone asking where did this weather come from, including the guys charged with cleaning up after it.
One homeowner tells TODAY'S TMJ4's Jay Olstad this pile of wood will be picked up Tuesday.
As far as Bayside Middle School, TODAY'S TMJ4 reports they plan to up and running tomorrow as well.
