Man and wife seriously injured at State Fair
WEST ALLIS - Authorities say several fair goers were physically assaulted during the mob-like violence that took place Thursday evening around the Wisconsin State Fair.
At least two people had to be taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
"I was waiting at the stop light at 84th street waiting to get on the freeway," explains Jeff Main who attended the fair with his wife.
"My wife's window was down and we were at a stop and suddenly people started crossing in front of the car and climbing on the car."
Main says hundreds of people began running through the streets and starting fights.
One person punched his wife in the face through the open car window.
"Out of nowhere someone punched her so hard that she got a cut above her eye and she fractured her eye socket in four spots."
Main got out of the car and he was also attacked. He needed stitches on his forehead and his wife will need surgery.
Police have several reports of assaults amid the chaos. They ask any other victims to come forward.
