Greenfield woman charged with husband's murder
GREENFIELD - A woman accused of shooting her husband to death during a domestic dispute was charged Friday with first degree reckless homicide.
According to a criminal coplaint, Regina Rath, 45, shot her husband Vincent in the chest in their home in the 4400 block of W. Morgan Ave. Wednesday afternoon.
When investigators asked Rath what happened to her husband, she "nodded her head and stated that a number of women from the neighborhood were having sex with her husband."
"The defendant then stated she first came home from the army and she noted that women were coming to the house and that she had warned him and left in the past. The defendant then stated, 'I need him, didn’t want to kill him.' "
"The defendant then asked what happened to her husband to which she stated, 'I didn’t mean to shoot him, but I did, I did.' "
If convicted, Rath faces a maximum sentence of 60 years in prison.
