There technically are no official mid-season awards, but a TV network that likes to make up some of their own (read: ESPY's) has given one to a rookie Packers running back.
ESPN's "NFL Live" named Eddie Lacy the midseason rookie of the year.
"It means a lot," said Lacy on the show Wednesday.
"It goes to show our work pays off. The offensive linemen have been doing a great job of blocking."
So far, he has 446 rushing yards in six healthy games as the Packers have sprinted to a 5-2 start this year.
In his last four games, he has 99, 120, 82 and 94 yards on the ground for Green Bay.
"It goes to the amount of preparation put in to this point, trusting and believing in the system."
