GREEN BAY - Every fifteen seconds a woman is beaten in a domestic violence situation, but the Packers and Verizon are trying to change that.
After already starting their effort this season with collections of old cell phones, The Packers/Verizon Hopeline program will lead to cash donations for cell phone equipment.
Verizon Wireless will give $10 for every phone donated at the Packers-Bears game on Monday (5:00 p.m. on 620WTMJ) to the Golden House Domestic Abuse Shelter.
Phones can be dropped off at Lambeau Field on Monday night near the Verizon Gate or in the atrium, also at any Verizon location.
Those phones will be refurbished and sold, with proceeds helping to buy phones for survivors of domestic abuse.
