  • It's here. The storm we've been predicting for days is slamming into the area.

  • A blizzard warning is in effect from 12:00 p.m. Thursday until 3:00 a.m. Friday for Dodge, Fond du Lac, Jefferson and Jefferson Counties, with a winter storm warning in effect for those counties until noon Thursday.

  • winter storm warning is in effect from 2:00 p.m. Thursday until 3:00 a.m. Friday for Waukesha, Ozaukee, Sheboygan and Walworth counties. A winter storm warning is in effect from 5:00 p.m. Thursday until 3:00 a.m. Friday for Milwaukee, Kenosha and Racine Counties

  • The storm is already producing snowfall in our far Western communities, while the east hangs on to rain. Everyone will transition to a period of moderate and even heavy snow for a time from West to East as the day progresses.

  • By afternoon, all of Southeast Wisconsin will be experiencing significant snowfall with some embedded areas of thundersnow which has a potential of piling up at an inch or two per hour!

  • In addition, winds will whip out of the Northwest leading to blowing and drifting snow with near zero visibility at times and blizzard conditions, particularly to the Northwest of Milwaukee.

  • The snow will continue through the evening and diminish again from West to East. Skies will clear, leading to plenty of sunshine on Friday, but with continued blowing and drifting snow, travel may remain troublesome.

  • Visibilities will be diminished at times and plowed roads may become snow covered and slippery again.

  • The colder air settles in for the weekend keeping the snow in place for the foreseeable future.
