  • Welcome to 2013! We kick off the new year with chilly temperatures as skies have mostly cleared overnight.

  • We will see mostly sunny skies to start out January but don't be fooled, the coldest air we've seen since last February will be on top of southeast Wisconsin today.

  • We will only hit a high of 16 degrees in Milwaukee, 13 degrees in Waukesha, and even with a mild NW wind at 5-15 mph it will feel between 5 and -5 today so bundle up! Expect another chilly night with overnight lows dropping into the single digits under clear skies. Wind chills will drop below zero for most of southeast Wisconsin as well.

  • A SW wind helps warm temperatures up into the low 20s for Wednesday with mostly sunny skies. But since temperatures are still below average, a light wind will drop wind chill values into the single digits.

  • A weak disturbance moves through Wednesday night, bringing a chance for a few flurries and light snow showers possible but accumulation will be light if even measurable. Temperatures slowly warm into the weekend with the return of the 30s expected by Sunday with quiet conditions.

  • New Years' Day: Mostly sunny, a bit breezy and chilly. | High: 16 lakefront... 13 Waukesha & inland. | Wind chill values: 5 to -5. | Wind: NW 5-15 mph.
